Create a new book (field-by-field guide)

This guide walks you through the New Book form and what each option does.

1) Choose Free or Premium

At the top of the form:

  • Free Generation = open license + public download
  • Premium Quality – No Limits = commercial rights + private download

See: Free vs Premium

2) Describe your book (the prompt)

This is the main text box.

  • You can write a simple title… but better results come from a detailed prompt.
  • You can paste your own TOC (outline). Youbooks may not follow it perfectly, but it helps.

See: Write a great book prompt

3) Writing style preference

Choose one:

  • No Style Use your prompt to define tone (“friendly, direct, no fluff…”).

  • Style Prompt Reusable style instructions you can save and re-use across books.

  • Human Model (+20%) Stronger style emulation using a fine-tuned style model.

See:

4) Book structure preference

Use the slider:

  • Many short chapters → narrow topics and more segmentation
  • Balanced
  • Few long chapters → broader chapter coverage

See: Structure & word count

5) Desired word count

Enter the target word count.

  • Youbooks aims for this count.
  • If you get more words, you won’t be charged extra.
  • If you get fewer words, Youbooks refunds a pro‑rata amount for the missing portion.

See: How credits work

6) Content Sources (optional)

You can select up to 3 Content Sources.

Important:

  • Sources are optional.
  • To select a source, you must create it first.

See:

7) Editing level (1–4)

More editing can improve polish and alignment with your instructions.

You’ll see the exact price impact in the Order Summary before you submit.

See: Editing levels

8) Optional toggles

Depending on your plan and workflow, you may see:

  • Search the internet for additional information Adds extra research beyond your prompt and sources.

  • Expensive Models (4× Price) Marginal quality improvements at much higher cost.

  • Bring Your Own API Key (BYOK) Use your own provider keys and choose models per workflow step.

  • Request TOC Approval (BETA) Pause the project after TOC generation so you can edit/approve before writing begins.

See:

9) Review the Order Summary

At the bottom, Youbooks shows:

  • your quote,
  • your current credit balance,
  • the remaining balance after the project.

This is where you confirm the final cost before submitting.
