How credits work
Youbooks uses credits to pay for:
- book generation,
- source creation (word-based),
- upgrades like Human Models and extra editing,
- post-editing a delivered book.
Book project pricing
Every book project has:
- A flat base fee: 9,000 credits
- A word-based cost: ~9 credits per 10 words
A simple approximation:
- Total ≈ 9,000 + (word_count × 0.9)
Example:
- 50,000 words → 9,000 + 45,000 = 54,000 credits
Upgrades that add to the quote
Your total quote can increase if you enable options like:
- Human Model (+20%)
- higher Editing level (+15% per level)
- Expensive Models (4× price)
Your quote will decrease if you enable BYOK but you will have to pay for the AI directly juice (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic)
Youbooks shows an Order Summary with the exact breakdown before you submit.
Content Sources pricing
- Creating a source costs 1 credit per uploaded word (one-time fee).
- Attaching a source to a book project costs 0 credits.
Over/under-delivery
- If Youbooks delivers more words than requested: no extra credits are charged.
- If Youbooks delivers fewer words than requested: a pro‑rata amount is refunded.
Post-editing pricing
Post-editing a delivered book uses a separate formula:
