Post-editing pricing

Editing a completed book version consumes credits based on:

  • the manuscript word count, and
  • the requested edit intensity (editing level).

How the quote is calculated

The edit quote is calculated as a percentage of your manuscript word count:

  • percent = 5% + 1% * (level - 1)
  • edit_credits = ceil(word_count * percent)

The editing level is clamped between 1 and 10.

Example

For a 40,000-word manuscript:

  • Level 1 (light edit): ceil(40,000 * 5%) = 2,000 credits
  • Level 10 (extensive edit): ceil(40,000 * 14%) = 5,600 credits

Tip: how to choose the level

  • Start low (Level 1–3) for clarity/flow improvements.
  • Use higher levels when the book has many inconsistencies, redundancy, or structural issues.
