Refunds & adjustments

This page explains how refunds work inside Youbooks (credit refunds).

If a project is rejected

If Youbooks rejects a project (for example, fiction requests or prompts likely to fail due to provider controls), credits are refunded.

See: Project rejection

If a project is canceled by you

Projects can only be canceled during TOC approval (when Request TOC Approval is enabled).

  • Cancellation fee: 2,000 credits
  • Remaining credits are refunded
  • Cancellation cannot be undone

See: Cancel a project during TOC approval

If Youbooks under-delivers on word count

If your delivered book is shorter than the target, Youbooks refunds a pro‑rata amount based on the shortfall.

If the book has severe defects

If the output is in the wrong language or has severe defects, contact support with your Project ID so we can review and help (including refunds when appropriate).

See: Wrong language or severe defects

“Spent credits”

In general, spent credits are not refundable (except in cases of rejection, cancellation rules, or severe defects where support approves a refund).
