Downloads & file formats

When your book is delivered, Youbooks provides four downloadable formats:

• MD (Markdown)
• DOCX (Word)
• EPUB
• RTF

Recommended: use Markdown as your source of truth

Markdown is often the easiest to:

• edit cleanly,
• move between tools,
• use with other AI editors.

In practice, Markdown is the best “master file” for revisions.

Basic formatting (intentional)

Youbooks uses basic formatting to keep outputs clean and unbranded.

This means:

• don’t expect KDP-ready layout
• you’ll likely want to format the book yourself before publishing
