Post-editing (BETA): edit a delivered book
After your book is delivered, you can request a new edit pass using Post-editing (BETA).
Post-editing is meant for higher-level improvements, similar to what a human book editor would focus on:
- fixing inconsistencies
- removing redundancy
- improving structure and flow
- aligning the manuscript more closely with your prompt
What post-editing is NOT for
Post-editing is not intended to:
- fix every small grammar issue line-by-line
- translate the book into another language
- completely rewrite the book into a different concept
For small fixes, it’s usually faster to edit the exported Markdown or DOCX.
Versioning (important)
Post-editing creates versions.
- v000 is the original delivered book (“root version”).
- Each edit creates a new version (v001, v002, …).
- You can start a new edit from any previous version, forming a version tree.
This means you can “go back” by selecting an older version and editing again.
How to start a post-edit
- Open your delivered book.
- Scroll to Post-editing (BETA).
- Select the version you want to edit.
- Click Edit and describe what you want improved.
