Set up API keys for BYOK

Youbooks lets you store API keys to use your own provider accounts. Keys are encrypted and stored securely.

Where to find the API key page

  1. In the app, click the user icon in the top-right.
  2. Open Profile.
  3. Click the My Keys tab.

Which keys you can add

You’ll see fields for:

  • Google Gemini API Key (required for Gemini models)
  • OpenAI API Key (required for reasoning tasks)
  • Anthropic API Key (used for Claude models)

After entering keys, click Save Keys.

Security note

Keys are stored encrypted. Still, treat them like passwords:

  • don’t share them,
  • rotate them if you suspect compromise.
