Project lifecycle & timelines

This page explains what happens after you click Submit.

Typical project flow

  1. You submit the book project.
  2. Youbooks generates a structure (outline/TOC) and planning artifacts internally.
  3. The manuscript is written and edited in multiple steps.
  4. The project is delivered and becomes downloadable.

How long does it take?

Premium projects undergo a complex process and typically take 1-4 days to complete.

Timelines vary depending on:

  • word count,
  • whether internet research is enabled,
  • model choices (including Expensive Models),
  • system load.

Do I need to stay on the page?

No. You can leave the app and come back later.

Your form progress is saved in your browser while filling it out, and after submission the project continues in the background.

The TOC Approval exception

If you enable Request TOC Approval (BETA):

  • Youbooks stops after the TOC is generated.
  • You must come back and approve/edit the TOC for the project to continue.
  • You’ll usually be able to review the TOC ~5–10 minutes after starting.

If you don’t approve it, the project is auto-canceled after 1 week (with reminder emails).

See: Request TOC Approval
